Many people, either English by birth or now living there, said that it was very difficult to distinguish between English and British culture and identity.
Most people identify themselves by the place or region in which they live, whether it be a major city or one of the English counties such as Northamptonshire(my home-county); or the religious or ethnic community they are from.
England is perhaps the country most people first think of when they think of the United Kingdom. It borders both Scotland and Wales and almost 50 million people live there, which is over 80% of the UK´s population.
London is one of the most well-known cities in the world and for many is representative of the whole of England, if not the whole of the UK.

My Home Town- Northampton
Where is Northampton?
Almost two-thirds of Brits can´t find Northampton on a map of the UK. Northampton is in fact located in the heart of England, and known as The Rose of The Shires! It is located 97 km north of London and 80 km south of Birmingham connecting together England´s two largest and most densely populated cities. Because of this Northampton is a major Trade and Commercial centre with good employment opportunities.
